Meet the Team: Life on the Road as a Sales Rep

You may have met me wearing one of my many hats at Surprizeshop—in the shop, at a pop-up event, or perhaps you've spotted me doing something slightly bonkers on social media!

Alongside all of that, I'm also a sales representative for Surprizeshop and Pure Golf, covering the North Thames and Midlands regions. As you can imagine, that involves a lot of driving. In fact, just yesterday I was stuck on the M1 for five hours! Frustrating? Absolutely. But I never get cross in traffic because I always remind myself that someone involved in the accident is probably having a much worse day than I am.

"I genuinely love being a sales rep. For me, it's all about trust. I want to be someone golf pros can rely on for honest advice and recommendations for products that will truly resonate with their members."

Building Relationships & Customising Collections

One of the best parts of my job is building relationships with golf professionals and getting to understand both their clubs and their customers. Every golf club is different, and that's what makes the Pure Golf collection so special. The breadth of the range means each club can create a completely unique mix of products, colours, and sizes, so no two shop displays need to look the same.

Giving Back Off the Course

Outside of work, I completed the London Marathon this year in support of DENS, a local homelessness charity. Many of the golf professionals I work with generously donated rounds of golf for me to auction, helping me raise even more money for such an important cause. I'm incredibly grateful for their kindness and support.

Behind the Scenes: How Our Selling Seasons Work

There are six sales reps and agents across the UK, working around two main selling seasons each year: Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter. Although it might seem early, we begin selling collections well in advance because we place actual customer orders rather than making speculative forecasts. Our Spring/Summer sales meeting takes place in May, with orders finalised by mid-August.

The design team does an amazing job every season, and it's always a real buzz visiting clubs and hearing how much members have loved the latest collections.

From Design Concept to Customer Feedback

Because we're a family business and I'm involved in the design process from the very beginning, I know our products inside out. I understand the fabrics, sizing, fit, and performance features, which means I can confidently answer any questions golf pros have when making buying decisions.

Listening is just as important as selling. Based at head office alongside the design team, I make sure all customer feedback goes straight back to them so we can keep improving.

One product particularly close to my heart is our Over Eighteen Boozy print—it was actually my idea! I was probably more invested than anyone in seeing it succeed, so I was thrilled when it became such a popular range.

Fashion Shows & Community

Another part of my role that I really enjoy is supporting our customers by attending and compering their fashion shows. As a family business, we're genuinely passionate about seeing people enjoy and wear our products, and there's nothing better than watching a collection receive such a fantastic response.

Chloe's Tips for Aspiring Sales Reps

  • Be authentically yourself: Be friendly, approachable, organised, knowledgeable, reliable, and honest.
  • Listen carefully: Build genuine relationships with your clients.
  • Deliver on your word: Always follow through on what you promise.

The selling season for Summer 2027 is nearly finished and it's been so well received! I can't wait until next year to be showcasing it at Pop-Ups, in our shop, and on socials.
