What an amazing weekend celebrating International Women’s Day at the Women’s Golf Lounge event!
Eighty inspiring women from across the UK came together at Forest Pines for a weekend of competition, camaraderie, and celebration—Team England vs. Team Rest of the World. Most women came to the event alone, but left with new friendships that will last a lifetime.
We kicked things off on Friday with our Surprizeshop Pop Up Shop and with an empowering Fashion Show, setting the tone for a weekend of fun. It was certainly our loudest fashion show in 27 years—the atmosphere in the room was incredible! It was a true display of women empowering and uplifting one another.
The event was open to all golfing abilities and it was fantastic to see some high handicaps brave it out and take part. One high handicapper was sharing with us how nervous she was but she was teamed by Yvonne with really supportive ladies and had a really fun time playing for her team! The whole event can be summed by genuine kindness, fun and positivity - a really amazing group of golfing ladies.
On Saturday on the course, Team Rest of the World claimed the win which was 10-9 and it came down to the last match which was all square going down the 18th. The real victory was for women’s golf and the incredible spirit of the event.
What Yvonne Brooke has created with the Women’s Golf Lounge is truly inspiring! Judging by the energy, the banter, and the competitive spirit… looks like there will be a rematch next year.
