The Women's (Ladies) Golf Lounge have just reviewed a few of our latest products and this is what their reviewer Ali Odell had to say...
PURE GOLF BRUSHED WINTER WEIGHT TOPS
How did the outfit make you feel on the course?
The top is just like being wrapped in comfort - this kind of comfort isn't usually stylish, but I felt amazing in it, we are lucky with ladies’ golf wear now, there are some great styles and patterns, but sometimes we have to compromise on comfort over style - so to find something that makes you feel confident and is comfortable too, is pretty darn good.
Was the sizing spot on, or did you need to go up/down a size?
I'm a size 12 top and I have a medium, it's perfect for me. This top can be used as a base layer due to its luxurious lining or over something else. Base layers are usually a bit tighter to allow further layers, this top isn't clingy but not baggy either. I would say if you like a baggier top, want it as your top layer, or are blessed "up top" then go up a size.
How does it hold up after a round in the wash? Any ironing?
It's been washed twice, and I haven't ironed it once. I do either peg outside or hang in the airing cupboard straight from the washing machine. I don't like creased clothes, so if it needed it, I would give it a quick iron/steam, but it hasn't needed it.
How does the material feel against your skin—breathable and comfy to swing in?
Absolutely! The fabric is super soft and lightweight, so it feels great against the skin. It is really breathable and stretches when you are swinging the club. Honestly, it’s like it moves with you—no restrictions at all! I could wear it all day, on or off the course.
How does the material feel against your skin—soft and breathable?
The material is pure luxury, it is so soft against my skin, like a very thin fleece, the outside is soft to. Even though the top is predominantly white, it's not see through at all, so can be worn as the only layer if you want to, which is what I have been doing. I'm a lady of a certain age and have the odd "hot moment" on the course, but wearing this top still left me feeling comfortable and confident for the whole round.
I didn't "feel" this top at all, it didn't interfere with my swing, no restrictions, it stretches with your body. The sleeves aren't too long either, I wear a golf watch, and I wasn't having to fight with the top to get to use it.
Would you wear it for a non-golf outing too, or is it strictly a golf-day look?
This top would look great with a pair of jeans, leggings or combats at the weekend, it's not just for golf, but I save mine for golf as that's how I spend most of my weekends. The Autumn Embers was my favourite colour, but I am tempted with the Winter Foliage one too.
Did the bobble hat keep your head dry?
Yes it did! The bobble hat has 3 layers - the outer knit, then the waterproof membrane and then a gorgeous fleece lining - this feels so soft and warm, at the moment I can't wear it for a full round as I get too warm in it! It's that toasty, but for the ladies that are always cold - you will love it. It's like the Porsche of the bobble hat world. Plus, there are 21 styles to choose from – something for everyone!
This bobble hat is just the cutest. I have the grey and it's such a nice colour. Some woolly hats just make you look horrible, they're unflattering; winter golf isn't stylish is it, it's all about the warmth. As far as bobble hats go - this is one of the nicest ones I have seen and had the pleasure of owning!
I am not a “bobble on a hat” girl, I find that it sometimes wobbles a little when playing (more noticeable when putting) - the best part of this hat is that you can just pop it off - it has a press stud, so you can keep it on for style as it's adorable and then remove it for playing in
Warm socks are a must, how did they hold up against the elements?
I am fussy with socks! I stick to the same summer ones and have used my skiing socks for the winter, so I was a bit sceptical getting these crew socks. However, I am really surprised at how good they are.
They feel really soft and comfortable - they have a little extra material where it's needed, and the elastane gives that support to stop socks moving and getting baggy in certain areas. I don't think of these as purely golf socks, I wear them regularly at home as they are so warm and I get cold feet.
The socks look quite festive with the snowflake on - these are sparkly, along with sparkles in a few of the underfoot stripes - you can't see it on the website, so a nice surprise when they arrived which adds to the appeal, I think they would make a good Christmas prezzie.
A huge thank you to Ali for reviewing our products! 🌟 We’re absolutely over the moon that you loved them!
