BEGINNERS

Hopefully your ladies ‘new to golf’ will have a buddy to help them into the world of golf, though it does help tremendously if you keep in touch with these ladies too – social gatherings, meet for a brew or a glass of wine.

TRIPS
Social or golf trips – is it your responsibility to arrange or someone else’s? If it’s yours, book early and advertise as soon as possible.
INVITATION DAY
Always a lovely event and an opportunity to invite a guest to your club. Is this in your diary and do you have someone invited? Always good to get in ladies’ diaries early so you aren’t trying to find a partner at the last minute.
COMMUNICATION
You can’t over-communicate, so use every option at your club to get messages out and about and keep people informed. Some people won’t read newsletters or an email, but might scan a notice by the bar…
WHO’S YOUR ‘GO TO’ PERSON?
I’m sure you have a trusted lieutenant or two – don’t be afraid to use them, or seek others’ opinions if it helps you.
DON’T BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF
Believe it or not, you may not be perfect. I know, shocker! Don’t beat yourself up if something doesn’t go quite right. Lady Captains aren’t experts – just do your best and have the right intentions and you won’t be too far away.
