There is nothing quite like the feeling of standing together on the 1st tee, united as a team, wearing a club kit that makes you feel confident, proud, and ready to play your best.
We recently received a wonderful letter from the ladies at Overstone Park Golf Club, sharing how choosing Pure Golf team tops in striking Purple helped transform their team spirit, confidence, and match performance across their entire season.
The Power of Purple at Overstone Park Golf Club
It all started on a whim when 2025 Junior Captain Jen Kyle and Joint Club Captain Ellen Roe were picking out their Captains' shirts. A quick exchange of "I like that purple" and "So do I" set the wheels in motion. Right away, fellow members commented on how distinctive and fresh the vibrant shade looked on the course.
To build a cohesive look for inter-club and mixed team matches, the club encouraged players to purchase either the sleeveless or short-sleeved Pure Golf polo shirt, beautifully embroidered with the Overstone Park club logo by Surprizeshop.
"In July at Ellen’s Ladies Cotswold Golf hotel weekend away, she asked everyone to wear their Purple team shirts for a group photo. At this point we realised we had created a very strong team identity that was far removed from the usual navy/white/light blue/pink that other clubs had adopted."
Building Team Spirit Across All Ages & Handicaps
Spurred on by that sense of unity in the Cotswolds, the team decided to GO FOR IT. They organised winter group coaching and welcomed players who had never previously considered team play—spanning ages from 13 to 79 and handicaps ranging from 6 to 43.
Together, they supported each other, bonded, and built an encouraging environment on and off the course. While wider headlines were reporting that women were becoming less involved in competitive golf, Overstone Park was proving the exact opposite!
Entering all four county inter-club leagues, the ladies played with clear purpose, pride, and unwavering enthusiasm:
- ✓ We looked awesome
- ✓ We were a team
- ✓ Our confidence was high
- ✓ We were enjoying ourselves
From Quarter-Finals to County League Champions
That strong bond and high confidence quickly translated into incredible results on the scorecard. Overstone Park qualified for the quarter-finals, progressed through the semi-finals, and went on to WIN 2 out of the 4 County leagues they entered!
"Our Pure Golf Purple tops look stunning in the sunshine with white skorts or shorts, and when the weather is cooler we opt for navy or black bottoms, whichever, we always look like a top team, PERFECT in PURPLE. Thanks to Pure Golf from Surprizeshop!"
We send our huge congratulations to everyone at Overstone Park Golf Club on an outstanding season! We are so proud to play a part in helping ladies' teams across the UK look, feel, and play their absolute best.
